The Dot
I am sitting here on lunch checking out a message board when I see a link that will cause me to waste a chunk of my lunch hour that I will never get back. I thought I would share it and see who else succumbs to the insanity that is...

Dining Out for Life
All I can say is huh?
Here's the
fuel for todays fire. Following is a little excerpt from the article. It's a quote from President Bush.
Lawmakers who have called for the deal to be blocked need to "step up and explain why a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard," he said.I believe that the moron is missing that it has been explained. You have a company, that is owned by a government of a country that has had ties to terrorism. Hmmmm...doesn't seem to hard to understand to me.
As far as the company being held to a different standard, what was he expecting? Let's face it, Bush has capitalized on the September 11th attacks. We are not what we once were. We are a country that is afraid of what some would call a faceless enemy, but Bush has done a good job of putting a face on the enemy, and that face I hate to say is Arab. Therefore, any arab company or government is going to be treated differently than say a european company or government.
The big suprise with this whole situation is this...
U.S. Rep. Peter King, R-New York, chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, and Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, already introduced a bill to put the deal on hold. and this.
Among the lawmakers threatening to hold up the deal are Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tennessee, and House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Illinois.Top ranking Republicans have broken with him. Looks like it's going to be a fun time on the hill.
Catching up with Tork
Well, it's been a while since I have posted anything of any significance. You all can call me names and curse me at the top of your lungs. It's all good. I still lub you! There are a number of things I want to talk about today.
First, the future of this here blog. I know that it's called "The Politik of Tork" but as of this moment I am branching out. I will be talking about more than just politics. Topics will vary widely from how my day was at work to how much I despise certain people, and for those who haven't figured it out yet, yes I am an angry person, so just be warned the language used on here might be too much for some individuals to handle.
Now, on to some personal stuff. For those of you who don't know, I am currently going to school. I started last year majoring in history with a minor in journalism. I started the spring semester off with a bang. I am taking Japanese. I must be a glutton for punishment as I decided to take it as my humanities course. I am sure philosophy would have been a lot easier, but I have always had a fascination with Japanses culture. I am getting a taste of it in this class.
I treated myself to a new tattoo. Four weeks ago today I had my first appointment with Dave Waugh at
Jinx Proof to have my comic book hero permenantly applied to my shoulder. Pictures will be posted sometime in the near future. In the meantime, guess I should let you all know who it is. Ever hear of a character named Green Lantern? More specifically, ever hear of Hal Jordan? I know. I know. A lot of you are saying, "Sean over at
The Sean Show did the same thing but with Aquaman." I will say that part of it is his fault. However, I have been wanting to get another tattoo or piercing for a while now. I had the last appointment to get the color done two weeks ago. It certainly is a site to see.
Here's the last bit of news for you all. As of March 1, I will habe migrated in from the burbs and be living in the city. This will be the first time I have ever lived by myself, and I am quite nervous about the whole endeavor. I have always lived with a roomate or a boyfriend, so this will be quite new to me. I am hoping to get the chance to meet some new people. We'll see how that works out though since I am typically a pretty shy person.
Anyway, there is your update. Thanks for reading.
