The Letter of the Day is V...

for Vendetta.

I went this past weekend with MSU to see this movie. Let me say that it was at once so much more and so much less than I expected. I am a fan of the original comic from Alan Moore and David Lloyd, and sadly I was expecting the Wachowski brothers to have turned this great story into nothing more than a special effects action fest.

Granted, at times I did see the knife sticking out the back of what I consider an amazing story. However, what the Wachowski brothers did was make the story more relevant to the world we live in today. Let's face it, much of what I saw in that movie I can equate to something going on today.

While the movie isn't the strictest adaptation of the comic, it is a timely one. It is an absolutely beautiful movie and I highly recommend it to everyone I know.

One final note, I think I am in love. Natalie Portman gave an amazing performance. Natalie, if you somehow happen to read this, will you marry me?
